Demystifying FSMA: Empowering Small-Scale Farmers

OurSpace World Inc. and Good Earth Therapy LLC, in partnership with the USDA, are launching Demystifying FSMA, a program designed to help small-scale Black farmers navigate food safety regulations and access larger markets. The initiative focuses on Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) compliance, producer training, and value-added product development to enhance farm viability.

Through workshops, hands-on training, and digital resources, farmers will gain practical knowledge on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), record-keeping, and risk management. The program also integrates chef collaborations and software tools to streamline compliance and market entry.

By addressing systemic barriers in food safety education, Demystifying FSMA supports equitable access to sustainable farming opportunities. This project aligns with USDA’s commitment to food security, economic growth, and community resilience in underserved farming communities.
